GULAR

We are a three-person team living in Bombay - one from Bihar, one from Rajasthan, one from Uttar Pradesh. All three of us ARE at different stages in our lives, trying to make a home in this city.

Through the unabated rush of Bombay the Gular tree has stood witness to our every day. The gular is A wild cluster fig that along with its family of Ficuses is one of the most ancient trees in the world - and perhaps ONE OF the MOST REMARKABLY evolved - containing entire ecosystems within itself.

 

To us, it is a reminder of home, though it remains largely ignored in the big city despite its ubiquitous and enduring presence.

Our curtains are Designed, woven, and stitched by hand in small batches to stand the test of time, and to continue to evolve and adapt with it - so that they, like the Gular tree, can be witness to and stand guardian over extraordinary lives well lived, even and especially when they feel most mundane.
